AviClear FAQs
What causes acne?
Acne develops from a combination of factors. When the oil glands become active during puberty, hormones called androgens cause the oil glands to enlarge and make excess sebum (skin oil). Skin oil lubricates and protects the skin. But when dead skin cells block the glands the excess skin oil buildups and attracts the bacteria that normally live on the skin. Acne develops when the skin pores become clogged with excess skin oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. This causes inflammation and swelling and infection called a breakout.
AviClear is the first FDA cleared energy-based device for the treatment of mild, moderate and severe acne. It can be used for all skin tones with no risk of hyperpigmentation. The AviClear laser energy is absorbed only by the sebaceous glands which is a cause of acne. AviClear is safe and effective for the treatment of acne. AviClear has also received approval from Health Canada for the treatment of all levels of severity of acne and to treat acne scarring.
AviClear employs laser light to selectively target and shrink the sebaceous glands to reduce oil production and eliminate acne at the source without need for prescription medications and potential side effects.
It is a limited treatment protocol of three treatments one month apart!
AviClear clinical studies used for FDA clearance showed that after three 30-minute treatment sessions, 90% of patients experienced visible improvement in their acne at six months. 92% of patients who were treated with AviClear saw at least half of their acne resolve within one year.
This confirms that AviClear treatments continually improve acne clearance and skin quality over time. Longstanding effectiveness makes AviClear treatments a good alternative to Isotretinoin and other topical and oral antibiotics and hormone treatments that create potential risks.
Visible results can be seen as early as 3-4 weeks and results continue to improve over time.
There is no need for topical numbing creams or other pain medicines. During treatment the patient may feel a mild snapping sensation. Because the AviClear contains cooling equipment it can maintain the skin’s temperature during treatment which makes treatments more comfortable.
The cost of three sessions of AviClear is $3000, with each session costing $1000. Three sessions spaced 30 days apart are recommended to see optimal results from the treatment.
